Erasmus Policy Statement
Institut Provençana has a clear international vocation and has been involved in European mobility projects since 1998. Promoting European mobility is one of its strategic objectives and is part of the Educational Project of the Centre. Since 2007 our centre has carried out mobility projects of placements in companies in France thanks to the Erasmus programme. That year we also obtained the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE), which was renewed for the period 2014-2020.
Since 2010 we have belonged to the Netinvet network, a European association for cooperation between institutes that teach advanced cycles of International Trade and Transport and Logistics, to promote mobility for studies and internships in European companies. This allowed us to carry out an annual student exchange between French institutes and Institut Provençana, building long-term relationships.
Over the years we have enlarged and strengthened our relations with European institutes and companies, carrying out mobilities in Germany, Austria, Slovenia, France, Italy and the United Kingdom. Thanks to these relations, international mobility projects have been developed that have benefited students as well as staff, companies and other related institutions.
Mobility for students and staff
At Institut Provençana, we believe that taking part in the Erasmus programme is an excellent opportunity both for our students and for the staff of the centre:
- SMP (Student Mobility for Placements): placements in companies.
- SMS (Student Mobility for Studies): studies in our partner centres, allowing students to complete their training in European higher education centres.
- STT (Staff Mobility for Training): training in companies and training courses.
Our institute is a reference teacher training centre in the area. Our teachers speak foreign languages fluently and have been trained in the CLIL methodology, so they can teach some units in English or French, improving our students' linguistic competences and easing the integration of visiting students.
Our centre also takes part in mobility consortia and European cross-border cooperation networks with other educational institutions, to carry out projects that improve the quality of vocational training, exchange experiences with foreign centres and open new paths of professional and human development to our educational community.
Objectives of our internationalisation strategy
- Improve results in Higher Education and Vocational Education and Training, contributing to lifelong learning competences.
- Improve the quality of Higher Education through cross-border cooperation between educational institutions and enterprises, promoting educational innovation.
- Strengthen the European 2020 strategy to reduce early school leaving and increase the population with higher education.
- Foster the participation of the whole educational community in mobility projects, guaranteeing transparency, inclusion and equal opportunities.
- Develop quality, sustainable European cooperation relations over time to deepen our experience in managing mobility projects.
Our approach
Our institute is a Vocational Training centre of intermediate and advanced cycles that offers mobility in its five professional families: Administration and Management, Commerce and Marketing, Building and Civil Engineering, Information and Communication Technologies, and Chemistry. In recent years mobilities have also been launched in intermediate cycles. Most mobilities in Higher Education are internships, and we also carry out study mobilities with Higher Education institutions.
Our internationalisation strategy involves local, regional, national and international institutions. Taking part in consortia that organise mobility for students and staff lets us diversify our programmes, increase the participation of the educational community and improve the quality of the projects.
Institut Provençana recognises the benefits that mobility brings to the centre, so we intend to continue carrying out KA1 mobility actions for students and staff, to keep improving the quality of our teaching, strengthen relationships with our partners and develop new projects. We are also open to KA2 actions of cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices, since cross-border cooperation reinforces our school strategy and has a positive impact on the entire educational community.
Our centre takes part in the Education Department's innovation and entrepreneurship networks and programmes, working closely with companies in the sectors of the families we teach. As a reference teacher training centre offering courses on new classroom methodologies, we believe we can contribute to strategic partnerships that promote innovation and the exchange of experience and competences between organisations.
